This rail was first used in the 1880s and saw service for nearly 75 years before being removed in 1954 when San Francisco’s cable car system was downsized to its present configuration. This set is a limited edition, available only from Market Street Railway and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity including information on the four rail profiles on the back, and an engraved nameplate on front. Plaque measures 10″ by 13″ x 1″.

This rail was first used in the 1880s and saw service for nearly 75 years before being removed in 1954 when San Francisco’s cable car system was downsized to its present configuration. This set is a limited edition, available only from Market Street Railway and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity with information on the four rail profiles on back, and an engraved nameplate on front. In the photo the top rail was lightly used before removal, the far left was for straight track, far right was for curves, the lower was for shared track. Plaque measures 10″ by 13″ x 1″.
