ENCORE SHOWING of F-line documentary Nov. 2 on Channel 2

UPDATE: Joe Fonzi’s great 30-minute documentary on the F-line will indeed be repeated on Channel 2 on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2, at 12:30 pm, just before NFL football on Fox. If you haven’t seen it yet, either watch or record it; it’s well worth your time, with great interviews featuring operators and maintainers of the streetcars, wonderful historical and current footage of both PCCs and vintage cars, and an interview with Mayor Lurie.

For those outside the Bay Area, we will also let you know when and if it is posted by Fox2 online for your viewing. That will be done on the Fox Local app, we’re told. We hope it makes it to YouTube as well, but that’s obviously not our call.

Longtime Bay Area television journalist Joe Fonzi has completed the most comprehensive documentary done on Muni’s F-Market & Wharves vintage streetcar line.

Joe Fonzi says the story started out as a short piece to run in a regular Fox2 newscast, but he found so much good material that he turned it into a full half-hour. This landmark coverage of the F-line is important to raise awareness, when its future is uncertain in the face of Muni’s pending budget dilemma.

We will have a summary of the documentary’s content in the next issue of our member magazine, Inside Track.
