Back by popular demand! The late Herb Caen was San Francisco’s most famous newspaper columnist ever, writing for more than a half-century. When he switched newspapers, tens of thousands of subscribers immediately switched too. We’ve taken a streetcar ad (part of our past museum exhibit that displayed advertisements actually used in San Francisco’s streetcars between 1915 and 1958) that the Chronicle used to promote Herb Caen and turned it into an 11-ounce mug. A great gift for any longtime San Franciscan or history or journalism buff.
