Original 1880s San Francisco Framed 4-Piece Cable Car Rail Plaque

These are handcrafted by the late craftsman Don McKinsey. We thought all his beautiful plaques had already been sold, but we just came across a few more and offer them now. They are wonderful keepsakes, and even better gifts. When they’re gone, they’re gone!

LIMITED EDITION – A truly unique gift: Four different pieces of original San Francisco cable car rail, beautifully mounted on a stained mahogany panel. Rail is polished and lacquered to prevent oxidation. Plaque comes with hanger and bumpers on back ready to hang on your wall.

This rail was first used in the 1880s and saw service for nearly 75 years before being removed in 1954 when San Francisco’s cable car system was downsized to its present configuration. This set is a limited edition, available only from Market Street Railway and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity including information on the four rail profiles on the back, and an engraved nameplate on front. Plaque measures 10″ by 13″ x 1″.
