This is a replica of the original Jewett Company Builder’s Plate, produced locally in 2014 for the restoration of Muni Streetcar #162, originally manufactured by Jewett 100 years earlier in 1914. Duplicating the original, this brass metal etched plate measures 6.25″ x 2″ x 0.0325″ and weighs one ounce. A handsome reminder of the early days of urban transit.

LIMITED EDITION: Own a piece of San Francisco’s unique transportation history!

This is a replica of the original Jewett Company Builder’s Plate, produced locally in 2014 for the restoration of Muni Streetcar #162, originally manufactured by Jewett 100 years earlier in 1914.

Car 162 was one of 125 cars ordered by the Municipal Railway of San Francisco to operate on their newly constructed lines to the Panama Pacific International Exposition (PPIE) in 1915. These cars originally ran on the D, F and H-lines, but soon were seen on all Muni streetcar lines with the exception of the E-Union Street line.

Duplicating the original, this brass metal etched plate measures 6.25″ x 2″ x 0.0325″ and weighs one ounce. A handsome reminder of the early days of urban transit.
